THE FUCK YOU SOUND WILL FUCK UP YOUR SUNDAY

CALEB SELAH PRESENTS THE FUCK YOU SOUND 72

The Pivotal October 06 The Fuck Up Sound Will Fuck UP Your Sunday myth sees Selah wondering around the head of Le Garcon De La Plage's head in 1966 wearing only a Kimono and a sheepish grin based mainly on acid, that's LSD folks (please use only as directed). Here we come across all sorts of half mangled melodies, inner voices, hallucinated inner voices and Paranoia Of The Mersey. Truly Selah's Brian Wilson phase spoils us all! It is rumoured that Lesbian Horse was so deeply moved by the Sight of Selah re-living these moments of Pain and Joy that she finally got over her deck-yips. The rest is her story, see next mix Lesbian Horse Sets The World On Fire... Ohm. Warning: This set may well contains traces of lunacy, delayed lunacy, frightening moments and enlightenment! Ohm again…. Plus! Uploaded after great demand: Part 1 of the already nearly legendary set from October 6, 2013, The Fuck You Sound will Fuck Up Your Sunday. In which Lesbian Horse battles her fiercest demons with her pretty fetlocks pumping out wrong-funk and battered-beats. Demons conquered!

CHOP'N QUENCH

JOHN SINCLAIR RADIO SHOW 219

On a cool London Saturday evening in September 2008 I took the Underground to Finsbury Park—only three stops away from the HeadPress Bunker in Wood Green—to meet the journalist and raconteur Chris Carter at a place called the World’s End Tavern and sit out on the sidewalk to enjoy a drink and the contemporary smoking area and an elongated conversation with Chris and my friend Gerard who happened along, excerpts from which are featured in this episode along with music by the Pinkeye Orchestra, Fela Kuti & Africa 70, Getto Kitty, Sons of Slum, John Coltrane, and the MC-5 “live” at the Grande Ballroom in the Fall of 1968.

Her presentation was so splendid that I decided to exappropriate it for my show this week, so with a few brisk edits and the addition of “Black To Comm” by the MC-5 at the end, here it is, with big conversations among the participants and musical selections from the Bermondsey Joyriders, Little Richard, the MC5, John Coltrane, John Lennon, and Wayne Kramer & the Blues Scholars.

THE EMBASSY OF THE LIVING SUN RA

JOHN SINCLAIR RADIO SHOW 221

In September 2008 the ZXZW Festival in Tilburg, Holland sent me an invitation to attend this year’s event to witness The Embassy of the Living Sun Ra, a week-long residency by the 15-piece Sun Ra Arkestra under the direction of Marshall Allen. I was able to attend the last four nights of musical delights and at the Saturday night concert at the Paradox Club I stuck out my little digital recorder and captured most of the second set. On Sunday the Arkestra concluded its week with a free concert in the park downtown, and this episode starts with the closing number from that concert, “We Travel the Spaceways.” Before leaving Tilburg I got my host, Ries Doms, a ZXZW board member, to take a break and explain how this festival and The Embassy of the Living Sun Ra came to be.
