First appearing on the 1957 collaboration between Monk and saxophonist Gerry Mulligan entitled Mulligan Meets Monk, the song has since appeared on dozens of Monk's releases, as well as being covered by musicians such as Dexter Gordon, Art Blakey, Kenny Barron, and Chick Corea.
