HOMAGE TO AMIRI BARAKA: JOHN SINCLAIR RADIO SHOW 531

Episode 531 is coming from the 420 Café in Amsterdam on a clear Saturday night in early January with Steve The Fly behind the hash counter and a program dedicated to the memory and achievement of the dearly departed Amiri Baraka, who left us behind last week at the age if 79. Baraka is very dear to me as both mentor and friend for 50 years and this show is for him, with music & verse from the James Cotton blues band, the Li’l Rascals Brass Band, Albert Ayler, Kalama ya Salaam with James Brown, Baraka himself, and a section from Episode 130 of the John Sinclair Radio Show when Amiri Baraka appeared as a guest backstage before his performance at the BitterZuit club in Amsterdam on Saturday, April 21, 2007.
