The Hempshopper by the Singel canal in Amsterdam has been shut down for a couple of months for major renovations and it’s just now re-opening, but our program is coming from the Trans-Love Energies Compassionate Care Center in Detroit where I’m spending the month of April before returning overseas next month and broadcasting this program of music by the classic Miles Davis Quintet, recorded in two marathon sessions in May & October 1956 for Prestige Records with John Coltrane on tenor, Red Garland at the piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums, released on four Prestige albums titled Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’, and Steamin’ with the Miles Davis Quintet.
