Episode 851 is coming for a third time from Radio Free Amsterdam’s temporary Detroit headquarters in the Hartford Rehab Clinic where I’m recuperating from open heart surgery on Valentine’s Day and reviewing my forthcoming album, a concert with the Planet D Nonet recorded at the Scarab Club a couple of years ago featuring a complete program of Thelonious Monk compositions topped with verses from my book always know: a book of monk set to the music played by RJ Spanger’s stellar nine-piece orchestra.
