John Sinclair Radio Show #318

John Sinclair Radio Show #318

Hash Bash, Monroe Street Fair
Saturday, April 3, 2010 @ 5:00-6:00 pm [20-1014]
Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I’m broadcasting on this bright sunny Saturday afternoon from the Ann Arbor Hash Bash at the Diag on the University of Michigan campus and the Monroe Street Fair, just a block or so away but well off the heavily-policed campus itself, where I’m MCing the music stage and performing with the band from Flint called Glowb and playing music for Radio Free Amsterdam from the 1972 & 1973 Ann Arbor Blues & Jazz Festivals, massive musical events that were contemporaneous with the early Hash Bashes in Ann Arbor. We’ll hear from the Johnny Otis Show, Leon Thomas & Full Circle, Count Basie & His Orchestra, the Charles Mingus Jazz Workshop with George Adams & Don Pullen, Homesick James, Roosevelt Sykes, Jimmy Reed, Ann Arbor’s own Mojo Boogie Band, Sun Ra & His Intergalactic Discipline Arkestra, and John Sinclair & His Amsterdam Blues Scholars.
