John Sinclair at fly agaric studio's, Amsterdam |
Episode 529 is our 53rd & last show for 2013, coming from the Fly Agaric 23 Studio now on the Bilderdijkstraat in Amsterdam where I’ll be cozily ensconced until the first week in February when i head back to the States. Christmas Eve brought the sad news that the great Detroit saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and philosopher Yusef Lateef has passed away at the age of 93, so this week’s show will be all Yusef Lateef, all the time, with selections from three of his scores of magnificent albums: Jazz Moods, Prayer To The East, and Yusef Lateef’s Detroit. Long live Yusef Lateef, and Happy New Year’s, everybody!
